Why does EventStar365 need my tax information?


If you’re using EventStar365 in the U.S., the IRS requires EventStar365 to issue a Form 1099-K when you process more than 200 orders and $20,000 in gross sales from all of your events in a calendar year. As you approach either threshold, EventStar365 will request that you fill out your Form W-9. If you’re a non-U.S. citizen, a Form W-8 instead.

The 1099-K is provided to you and hte IRS. It is purely informational that summarizes the sales activity of your account and is designed to assist you in reporting your taxes.

EventStar365 is required to withhold all future payouts until the form is completed.

If you’re not a U.S. citize, you’ll want to submit a W-8 form instead.

Your Taxpayer Information is used to determine if EventStar365 needs to issue you a Form 1099-K. The information collected is found on your W-9 Form. We’ll notify you when you meet one of the following thresholds:

125 orders: EventStar365 will send an email to the primary account holder’s email address

150 orders: EventStar365 will send an email to the primary account holder’s email address

When you process more than 200 orders for the events in your account, EventStar365 will send an email to the primary accountholder’s email address. Failure to complete the Form W-9 at this point will results in payouts being withheld.

Only the primary account holder should provide the taxpayer information. To submit:

1. Log in to your EventStar365 account.

2. Access your account

3. Scroll to the Tax section

4. Upload and submit your documentation
