Why does Kwivrr need my tax information?

If you’re using Kwivrr in the U.S., the IRS requires Kwivrr to issue a Form 1099-K when you process more than 200 orders and $20,000 in gross sales from all of your events in a calendar year. As you approach either threshold, Kwivrr will request that you fill out your Form W-9. If you’re a non-U.S. citizen, a Form W-8 instead.

The 1099-K is provided to you and hte IRS. It is purely informational that summarizes the sales activity of your account and is designed to assist you in reporting your taxes.

Kwivrr is required to withhold all future payouts until the form is completed.

If you’re not a U.S. citize, you’ll want to submit a W-8 form instead.

If you’re not sure how to fill out the forms, please consult your tax advisor. Kwivrr can not provide tax advice.
